Summer of Contracts

Ah, someone needs to take Harry aside and explain one of the basic rules of war to him, "No plan survives first contact with the enemy, that's why they are called "the enemy".". He really needs to get some books on the better generals of history, though I'm not sure how much he'd find on ones like Bellisarius.

I rather suspect that what Harry did was essentially marry Firenze and Laurel but that it'll take him a bit to realize that (heh, he's new to this Family Head/Herd Stallion business). Mind you, I still want to see a scene on the train where both Luna and Susan use "My Stallion" in talking about Harry, bonus points if Ginny's within earshot at the time; double bonus points for Ron & Draco (I'm not sure how many for Hermione, esp. since she's still a good friend).

The title of the next book/story sounds interesting as there are so many who'll be discontented:
Harry - for all the games Dumbles tries to play
Dumbles - for Harry striking out on his own and doing quite well, esp. when the contracts Harry arranged as Lord Potter and Lord Black come to light
Tom - His attacks likely didn't succeed neaer as well as he'd expected (we know about the platform and I suspect the others went 'bout as well for the Deeters).

I am sorry to see that Seamus died, but I'm glad no one closer to Harry died. The assistance of Neville and House Longbottom to the Patils should go a long way toward helping cement things 'tween Neville and Padma. And, finally, I do like how matters are going 'tween Hermione and Terry (heh, he's got to be better for her than Ron!).
