Well this started off cliché and isn't out of those woods yet. However, the details about Vernon's comeuppance were finally different, if disgusting. ;-)
Point of fact: Harry was not born at exactly midnight and magic would not follow the Gregorian calendar year anyway.
Also Vernon's injuries should be fatal and he could not go through a wall without a severe impact on at least one stud.
You do get major points for a Kickbutt!Harry (if this story holds true).
