It was part imagination, part insight from interviews and part personal experience.
There's nothing so bad as the feeling of worthlessness and failure. But he's been there and got through it and so have I. Like him, I would tell anyone suffering to seek help (friend, teacher, colleague - depression has no age boundaries), no matter how bad things seem. Nothing is worth throwing a life away for.
Sorry if I sound a bit serious, but it's been something of a release for me to write this :)
