i have to say that the bits with fawkes were my favorite of the whole chapter. im dying to know what caused him to leave dumbles and transfer allegiance to harry. ive seen/read this in other stories but it's usually pretty straightforward as to why. and if there's one thing your story isn't is straightforward (and i mean that in a good way!) im also really curious about how dumbles will react to the rejection (though im sure he will learn nothing from it)
