Review for Beyond Grave Peril

Beyond Grave Peril

Despite knowing nothing about the obviously complex Dresden-verse, I'm thoroughly impressed, intrigued and intoxicated by this tale. I'm a bit curious about Voldies use of the rod as a wand. The construction can't be even similar, given the description and as far as i can understand it, they don't work as foci, but more like an adapter, channelling power into a preset pattern. If, on the other hand Voldie modified a rod with his own runic pattern, wouldn't some or other agent find the pieces and make one, perhaps usable by our new favourite Sidhe? No matter. Keep at it. More catgirls to the people!

Author's response

Like Harry said, a staff is a crude version of a wand, and a blasting rod is a crude version of a staff. While DF wizards do have foci made for singular spells, those two are multi-purpose tools. Of course, blasting rods, as their name suggests, are no good for any delicate spellwork. How can Lord Voldemort wield such an inadequate weapon and still kick Harry's ass? Well, he's just that good.

“Our favourite Sidhe” means Aurora, right? Anyway, no DF character will ever use HP magic – It's something you must be born with. However, if they ever get their hands on a wand, they can certainly use it to channel their own brand of magic.

More catgirls, you say? Even the first one was pure fan service and adding more might be a bit gratuitous.

Thanks for reading and reviewing!
