I'm not totally sure that this ending is fair to Harry and those men like him who take up arms/violence solely to protect others and to stop those who do so from evil motives; that behavior does not, IMHO, merit such a response (I'll cite the verse of The Star-Spangled Banner which starts "Oh thus be it 'ere, Where Free men shall stand..."). Still, 'twas quite the good fight scene and I can't really feel sorry those who got obiterated at the end there, though I thought what happened to Bellatrix was a nice poignant touch. IF this was the end, 'tis a good one but, again IMHO, it merits an epilogue.
Author's response
Thanx, as always, for reading and reviewing.
Yep, totally unfair to Harry and all the men who did take up arms against evil. But remember what the Dread Pirate Roberts told Princess Buttercup. . .
Bellatrix is both the product and the victim of her creator(s), I wanted to give her a good end.
Tis’ not quite the end, one chapter to go – look for it next weekend.
