Battered Hearts

-chuckle- No matter where he goes, he can't seem to be "just Harry", now can he? Seriously, that's a nice piece of work he did and I'm sure he'll be remembered for it. Meanwhile, it seems that he and Hermione are drawing closer together but haven't yet realized all the implications; it should be both entertaining and educational when they do realize this. Moving on, you have to feel sorry for Paul Kemp and what he's going through. I have to wonder at that cog attacking during the day, though, as that does leave it more vulnerable to discovery. In any case, it's clearly going to be lurking in wait when they finally return. If Harry hasn't warned Hermione about the threat, both as a warning for "constant vigilance" as well as something to soothe her memories of what posessed!Ron did, he really should before they return to their home. On the other hand, that could be one frustrated cog if Harry persuaded her to pack everything up and bring the two households together.

I'm afraid I'm not the linguist you are, besides English, I'm only familiar with Spanish, Italian, and Latin.

Author's response

Thanx.
If he were “just Harry” then where would the plot be?
Today Harry got up, went to work, ate lunch with his workmates, then went home, watched videos and went to bed. Repeat. Ad naseum.
Being Fate’s Bitch, his day would be more like:
Harry got up, naked and bound by coarse, tight ropes. . .
Which story would you feel compelled to read?
Yepper, UST, one of my favorite plot devices. As a reader I want to scream “Will you just get it on already?”
As a writer I say, “Patience, wait for it. . .”
If Paul were on an episode of Star Trek he’d be wearing a red shirt. Sorry, buddy.
The cog was desperate enough to lay in wait for Paul, even though the sun was up, but then again, this is London. The sun has to be up for at least two hours to burn off the fog.
Harry is falling into the same trap that Dumbledore did – he feels he knows what’s best for those around him.
And yes, that will bite him in the arse.
Be Patient,
Wait for it. . .
N!
