I enjoy that you used so much of the surrounding mood to express the feelings of the characters. Naturally you described how they were feeling too, but there's a real art in letting the averting of the head or the flicker of an eye show what the feelings are.
I think this was a good mix of atmosphere and description. And you captured the character of both of these people very accurately.
