I appreciate your explanation of how the children, ages 2 and 3, are acting like much older kids. Although, our little boy was already reading when he was four years old.
The cog that left the Department of Mysteries, is it the real bad guy? What will they do to keep thier children?

You are the only one to notice that Harry’s and Hermione’s children are much more mature than RL two and three year olds, so I put that description in the story just in case someone noticed.
You, Tatlem, are very good.
Spoiler Alert
All the cogs are the bad guy, they are networked. So, in a very real sense, they all share the mantle of ‘bad guy’.
