Um, in the comics, Fury isn't black. It's all in the details.
Author's response
- Actually, yes he is. In 2000 Marvel started a new imprint called 'the Ultimate Universe' that reimagined a goodly portion of the 616 (baseline Marvel) universe.
- The Ultimate Fury, is indeed black, and the character I am using.
- The differences between the two Fury's are more than the color of their flesh.
616 Fury would tell you what to do, if you refused he would then fire off several thousand rounds of ammunition at you, missing every time and somehow losing his shirt in the process, he would then have Dum Dum Dungan beat you up until you agreed to cooperate.
Ultimate Fury would tell you what to do, if you refused, he would kill you, reanimate your corpse and make you do what he told you to do.
- Admittedly I am merging portions of the 616 universe with the Ultimate (or 1610) universe, but Nick Fury is black.
