I must admit that I've fought reading this story for several weeks. Finally, I gave in to my curiosity and opened it. I'm glad I did! This is wonderful!
However, I'm a Ron fan. I love him to pieces. He's a big lovable galoot with foot-in-mouth disease. It hurts me when he's bashed, but I get over it if the story's good. So far, this one is, so...I'll get over it.
I'm also a Harry/Ginny shipper, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate Harry/Hermione ships. Again, anything well-written works for me, except Slash--Harry is not gay. I've tried to read and appreciate it, but I just can't. Never mind.
I like where this appears to be going, though. Luna is the glue that'll hold this trio together. I've always suspected she is a Seer of sorts. Harry needs Hermione's logic and Luna's ability to suss out the possibilities to stay safe.
That said, it sounds like Dumbledore is filling the manipulative old fart role. Until I began reading fan fic, I never thought about it, but he really was manipulative. The evidence is certainly there in each of the books. Thank goodness for Luna. Hermione's already learning that not all authority figures are infallible.
Good job. I shall read on!
Author's response
Thank you for taking a chance, I know I've read some stories that made me want to hurl.
I personally am not a big fan of Ron, you may want to skip the next chapter, cause he screws up big time and has a [/really/} bad day.
Sorry.
Hopefully he'll have a hero moment in the final battle.
We can only hope.
