I was thinking about writing something along this line myself, but I'm glad I didn't and you did. Very nice, excellent writing.
I do hope you'll give try to avoid the clichés a bit, there are several Harry/Gabrielle stories out there that follow a bit of the same plot and this has the potential to become a story that possesses quality. Though if you don't think you're up to it, I'd agree with keeping it a one-shot. Or maybe several one-shots.

Well, the story was never intended to be other than a one-shot until I started writing. As such there's really no plot and I have no real interest in developing one. The following chapters will be about how Harry deals with the aftermath of the bonding and all the little unexpected things that happen as a result (hence the title). I have three more chapters planned at the moment, but, unless inspiration strikes in the intervening days, that will be it.
