Ginny csting the killing curse is OOC, especially if not reacting directly towards the person she feels has wronged her (in this case Voldemort), and there were no attackers in the castle at the time of Harry's death

Strictly speaking, when sticking to canon, you are right.
Fanfic is, however, flexible and I had hoped this tiny bit of artistic freedom of mine would be excused. Still, it's closer to canon than 14-year old Harry having the Veela charm...:D
