I'm sorry I haven't reviewed the last two chapters, I was just being lazy.
This chapter was a good 'tweener, setting up the next phase of the story. It moved quickly and you did a good job of pulling the Star Fleet command staff together.
The Catian Admiral was an interesting addition to this. You've pulled out a lesser known race that I don't think existed outside of the "Log" books and the animated series the "Log" books were adapted from. If we see more of the Catians, can you toss in references to some of Niven's Kzinti or Slavers?
For some reason it doesn't surprise me that technology has found an explanation of 'magic'. Mentioning 'Where No Man Has Gone Before' was a nice touch.
Oh, as I expected, Harry's on a fast track, much like how his step-brother was.
