Yeah, attorneys can be one of the most offensively powerful forces in nature, as long as you get a good, competent one and with Harry's current array of talents and abilities, that won't be a problem. Given the contracts through the goblins with review by Mme. Bones, Dumbles is likely going to find his legal standing cut off at his crotch (with mayhaps a few other pieces removed, too). It should be quite interesting to watch as Harry builds a proper structure for dealing with his estates et al. and seeing how many purebloods get outraged because "that's not the way we've always done it"; likewise with the proxies he appoints to his seats in the Wizengamot, there's likely to be considerable outrage over his appointments flying in the face of tradition, but totally within the law.
Now, I do know that if I were Harry, I'd most likely remove the Friends of the Flaming Fowl from my residence; let them meet on their money, not mine. If I was feeling generous, I'd even allow them to remove their files with them; if not, well, that's life in the big time, folks. Methinks there's going to be lots of outraged f folk, for different reasons, to keep Albus company; especially since all the compulsion and control means being used on Harry and his friends are being negated and their use highlighted to people who used to trust Albus. I don't think his vision of "the Greater Good" is going to look quite so good as everything comes out.
Author's response
We tend to give attorneys a ration of shit until we need them.l Unfortunately the few underhanded ones name the rest. the same goes for car sales men and shudder! politicians.
While Bones is on his side, Dumbles is first and foremost a (URGH) Politician. the lowest form uf subsurface bottom crawling criminal on earth.
Harry is going to get help from some of the few who won't give either Dumbledore or Voldemort an inch. Who? Read on.
I am setting up the management of his estate like I would if it were mine. His first and most important priority now is to recruit and train, and so, after the next few chapters, he's going to let the professionals do their jobs.
His proxies will be both the best for their positions, and acceptable to the rest of the council. Wanna guess on who they'll be? Two are in canon and one is an OC.
OotP: In a couple of chapters, I'm going to do just that. He'll always have his supporters, which is why I decided to not use a couple of people to vote his seats. You'll learn who in a few chapters.
I think you're right. Albie;s greatest strength, is in his silver tongue. EH tells as much as he needs to hook you, and then just enough to keep you under control, but never enough to do what's necessary.
It seems to me that he's more concerned for the Death Eaters than their victims.
And I really hate that 'greater good' It's like the version i got in both the navy and the Marine Corps. "The big picture. Translated it means: "Shut up do as you are told and let those with higher rank think for you, because you are obviously incapable of doing so for yourself...stupid."
I hate the big picture too. (I had a bad attitude for the entire 23 years I was in.)
Until next time...
