I really enjoyed it, but would it be possible to give us a better authors note before the next chapter? I know its AU, but there are so many different types out there. Perhaps tell us if its at a different time then cannon, ages, and what may have happened at Hogwarts so the Triwizard Tournament didn't happen? If you planned on filling us in later, my bad As much as i enjoy the premise, the style its written in, and your overall skill as a writer, i just rather not feel confused. We who read here have such clear pictures of what roles a character can play, and the relationships between them, or should be between them, that i think i would enjoy knowing just how different the world you're introducing is from cannon.
