JEDI POTTER

He needs a sample of Dumbledore's blood? Considering his promise to not use Blood Magics, he's still got lots of options between what he might be able to do "in the Force" and what technology, especially bio-technology, would be able to do. I rather suspect there's going to be an exceedingly shocked Albus Dumbledore when Harry springs his "surprise" on him.

Meanwhile, I like the way that Minerva and Filius are working together, especially after Filius was contacted by the Goblins; 'twould appear that Harry's embrassive attitude is encouraging others (this could make life -very- interesting for those who hold exclusionist views of any kind). Too, I liked the new Weasley family tradition, it's such a useful one for when you don't want to leave a magicl trace.

The initial meeting of Harry's Jedi training class seems to have gone well as Harry's most certainly chosen carefully and they all seem impressed by what they've seen and been told. Certianly the presence of Fawkes and his obvious approval of Harry should go a long way toward easing concerns (wonder what they'd think if they knew that Faekws was deliberately abandoning Albus?). Methinks they might feel a bit different after their first rounds of physical training. Still, his academy looks to be off to a good start. 'Twill be quite the scene when that big, thick letter arrives informing Albus that he's lost a whole lot of capable students along with their tuition payments; I'm not sure which will hurt him more.

The whole sequence with Her Royal Highness was nicely done, especially all the steps taken to convey the distrust and distaste in which Albus is now held after Lord Gryffindor's exposition under a truth spell. Methinks Albus was hoping to leverage the non-magicals' fear and concern about Tom and his merry men into greater control over that side of Britain; that plan has just ocme to a screeching halt; so has his control over the rest, but that's going to come at a slower and much less obvious pace until it's a /fait accompli/.

I can see why the Queen didn't have him "terminated" while she had him magically neutered, she really didn't have firm enough evidence of direct misdeeds to do so. Mind you, I suspect what she did do hurt him more than just killing him would.

Oh, something I didn't comment on earlier, that was a nice throw-away line about Colin selling pictures of Harry to the Daily Prophet; considering taht Harry now owns controlling interest there, it wouldn't do Colin much good, anyway.

Author's response

Heya Cat!

As Clarke said: "Any sufficiently advanced technology..."

I'm surprised you missed it, though you came damn close. "...and those thoughts led to a place far from where he’d begun. A place beyond the outer rim territories, in fact."

While Harry has only seen (or heard) episodes 4,5&6, his knowledge is imparted to him by Yoda who is considerably more informed. There will only be a short foray into the 'prequel', and that only as a reference.

...and Dumbledore is gonna be shocked out of his skin!

~I like the way that Minerva and Filius are working together, especially after Filius was contacted by the Goblins; 'twould appear that Harry's embrassive attitude is encouraging others (this could make life -very- interesting for those who hold exclusionist views of any kind).~

Precisely. Filius has always been one of my favorite characters. it was obvious from the start that he was half-goblin(until Cuarón gave him that Godawful comb-over!), so it makes sense that he would be involved. He's always been described as very fair, and being a Ravenclaw, he has to be intelligent.

Also, since one of the mandates was to get the sheeple to think for themselves, Inter-species cooperation would be a very good way.

Tradition: It's always a good thing to know how to knock somebody out with a club! Snicker!

The first meeting: Believe it or not, my introduction to police work at the regional training academy in Santa Fe, was very much like this. It was relaxed, and at the same time informative. We were given the liberties of adults and we were expected to behave like adults.

More on that in the next chapter.

~Certianly the presence of Fawkes and his obvious approval of Harry should go a long way toward easing concerns...~

Yes. Since the WW Sees the phoenix as a purely light creature, hey cannot conceive of anyone so favored as being Dark. Harry is currently playing on that prejudice while at the same time trying to change their thinking about it.

~(wonder what they'd think if they knew that Fawkes was deliberately abandoning Albus?).~

Either he's been led astray, (Dumbledore might push that one)or Dumbledore is so totally corrupted he shouldn't have had Fawkes in the first place. (Which the rest of the people will be voting for.)

PT & Dumbley's reaction: You're actually right on the button. Evil Chuckle!

Probably losing all that loverly gold.

The Queen: Her Royal Majesty. Highness refers to the prince and princlings...and some lower nobility.

It took a lot of work to get The Queen's personality down, as straight as I could. My grandmother actually knew her, During WWII, but most of what I know was from watching Carol Burnett.

Security measures: Yup. Every step the dumb schmuck takes, he's reminded of how badly he's screwed things up.

It's also the reason it took so long after Harry's visit, before she summoned Dumbley. She hadda get everything ready. Dumbledore is still an exceptionally dangerous person.

It was more that he wanted the Queen to trust that he and he alone could solve the problem...as long as she let him do things his way.

Now, most of his influence is gone, and the rest will be sanded off over the year.

As I told Jabarber, she's a Constitutional Monarch. She can't do that anymore. Dumbledore is still living in the past when a king or queen could.

Colin: Very true. My bad.

Until next time...
