One question - what exploded in chapter 3? I know Holly caused the explosion remotely, but I wasn't clear on exactly how.

About the detonation; Holly had made a homemade grernade out of the explosive shavings of Erumpent Horn, set to go off when someone said 'Merry Christams'. She wasn't too concerned with dying as well, as she was using the transfigured badgers as proxy.
