Well, once again, with this chapter, I'm wondering if you're trying to take the mickey with all of us - make this into something of a farce rather than a 'serious' story. It's still an entertaining read, but unlike most of your other stories, into which I can put my faith that 'yes, this makes sense and could happen', and get totally involved, this one stretches believability just a bit too far, I think. Falling houses. Bells ringing 'Ding Dong, the Witch is Dead'. Vulgar insults. A repeat of the defeat of the Black Knight from 'Monty Python and the Holy Grail'. The Wizard of Oz.
I'm not being unkind, but did you just get impatient and decide to wrap this story up quickly around the point where the duel was introduced? I mean no insult; I'll have to go back and look at the early chapter outlines that you shared with us to see if you'd gone this far back in the early days.
Well, maybe Harry was just showing his (physical, emotional) age with all this stuff.
If each of Harry's 'closest supporters' (did that include his classmates, or just the adults?) believe they'll see Harry again in just a few years, why is he leaving in the first place? I guess I missed the point; I thought chapter 29 was all about why he'd have to leave the Wizarding World for good, lest he become a benevolent dictator, etc? That will still apply in a few years time, won't it?
Loved the 'SNAKE FACE' thing; classic twins, and a good way to show how low Voldemort had sunk - Harry's PR campaign had really worked!! As you pointed out a few paragraphs above, he was no longer on a pedestal.
Looking forward to the conclusion of the story!
Author's response
They will see Harry in a few years, but Harry will not be arou nd very much. I would think there would be a big difference between Harry making a flying visit and being contantly in the UK, reminding people how powerful he is.
I hadn't meant to recreate the death of the Black Knight, but I can see why you'd think I had. And I've always wanted to drop a house on Bellatrix, and so have been planning the part for a long time.
Glad you at least liked 'SNAKE-FACE'!
