Fate's Cruel if Life's Great

This is really great. The title and summary (and author) really interested me to read this. Gerard will never know what it was like to miss that one person who understands you better than anyone because he's been too out of it on God knows what to probably even know that Mikey was still there. Mikey was, from how you seem to write their fight, was once his best friend, but one day he got replaced with something that wasn't even good for him. I get that Gerard didn't want Mikey to have to live without a guardian, but then again, he didn't have to take Mikey in. He could've thrown his life away, but he didn't and Mikey kinda saved him because he wouldn't have had to get clean if he didn't believe that Mikey needed him. Be his guardian Gerard, but above that, be his brother, his friend, the most important person in his life. Thus story has got me all hyped up. So, that fight. Who taught Mikey to use his words like that. And Gerard, that was just a low blow about the stuttering. You just want to hurt him for the way that he was hurting because of what Mikey said. Well great job, and tha is for getting me so excited. I feel like today is going to be a good day now.

I'll be waiting for the next chapter. This really has you wondering what's going to happen next. Now Mikey will (maybe) never know that Gerard only meant what he said to get Mikey to stay.

Author's response

Thank you! I was actually torn between two titles for this (the one it has and "Curses Bring Gifts"), so I'm pleased that you like it's current title. I love that you pretty much summed up what I was trying to convey through the chapter - I'm glad that it didn't turn out to be confusing - especially how Mikey needs Gerard as a brother and how the fight kind of evolved into this huge thing where Gerard says some really stupid, hurtful stuff. Anyway, I'm very pleased that you liked it and thank you soooo much for reviewing - it really motivates me and puts a smile on my face! :)
