This is absolutely wonderful, and sorry to hear about your arm. I hope it gets better. Well, I think this is great. I really like the part where Frank curses when he's speaking to Mikey and how Frank imagines Mikey might feel because of it. Scared and creeped out and all the things that fall in-between the two. I like how caring Frank is and how he really believes that the world is just at it's lowest point because someone like Mikey has gotten hurt. I also really like the way you ended it. It kinda connects to that part about feeling like an overprotective mom. I can imagine Frank with his hand on his hip and the index finger of his other hand is pointing in a way that clearly says " you're going to be sorry." The ending also left you wondering what will happen next. I'm coming up with scenarios but they don't seem right, and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't happen in this story anyway because you're so unpredictable in your writing, another thing I like about the way you write. I also like how the chapter title connects with the story, but I also like the actual title. I can imagine Frank saying something like "While I desperately want to heal him, rid him of any pain that he may feel, I can't, but I can come pretty close." Or " You can't heal the hurt, but you can help them heal themselves." This last one seems kinda like a real life Frank Iero thing to say, and in the story those lines would be written better because I'm terrible at
writing. Anyway, this is very well written and I'm unsure as to why you think this isn't anything but fabulous. It provokes strong imagery and emotion and you get a real glimpse into a world that doesn't really exist. I can only ever say good things about your writing. Also, I know I said this already, but I hope your arm gets better. I haven't had an accident like that yet so I don't know how that feels, but I imagine it can't feel good.
