Just rereading this for the nth time and realized that they had an easy answer for Remus' transformations sitting right in the front hall: On the full moon, chuck him in a stasis tank for the night. Since time isn't passing in the tank, no transformation, hence no pain.

I suppose it would work, but it woul;d only be a baqndaid measure. Also, I wonder if interrupting the cycles like that wouldn’t sause more trouble.
It’s a thought, though.
