Oh god. The aftermath is just getting worse...
What I realised in this chapter, that I never really thought about before, is the Frank and Gerard relationship. Well obviously I've thought about while reading about it, but not detailed thoughts. I mean, Mikey is ridiculously strong. Pete is quite strong, maybe not brilliant at holding back, but Frank has to watch Gerard make all these horrible mistakes and live in the knowledge that he still loves someone who can say things that are that cruel. Every time Gerard fucks up, it's only Frank that can manage to bring him back to the reality of what he's done.
Which is why I really hope Frank can talk sense into Gerard. Mikey has given up and Pete just wants to be next to Mikey and comfort him.
Amazing chapter that, as you can see, really made me think! The cliffhanger ending again made me desperate for another chapter! And I think your dialogue was pretty good; it was realistic, I could imagine the situation and to be honest, it seemed to flow a he'll of a lot better than mine ever does.
Author's response
With this chapter I really wanted to create a feeling of sympathy for Frank (amongst other things) because, although he is always the one who manages to stay relatively strong, always has to pick up the pieces of what his boyfriend does. Every time Gerard fucks up, Frank is the only person around to fix it and he has to live with the knowledge of what his boyfriend is capable of.
Thank you very much; I'm sooooo glad that you think this chapter was alright and that it made you think. I'm pleased that you think the dialogue was realistic, I have a tendencey to make what the characters say sound ridiculously out of character so it's a relief to know that you thought it was realistic. Don't talk yourself down; I love your writing and I'll be content if any of my chapters ever flow as well as yours do!
Thank you very much for taking the time to review! :)
