This chapter is great! It really drove home the point that Mikey truly is in need of help, to the point where he cuts himself and simply doesn't care if people find out because he doesn't expect them to care about him or want to help. I feel really sorry for Mikey because he just doesn't know how or who to trust, even mistaking Frank's compliment for being teased. I thought it was interesting that Gerard has beaten up people who hurt Mikey, it puts Gerard in a new light and adds to the fact Mikey has trust issues; someone in Mikey's situation would most likely want to be as far away from a violent person as possible. It was sweet that Frank blamed himself for Mikey snapping, it shows how much he really does care. I'm also intrigued as to what it is that Gerard had to tell Mikey.
Great job and I can't wait to find out what happens next! :D
Author's response
Thank you very much! I am really pleased to hear that the point about Mikey being in need of help but doesn't want it came through as I think it's one of the main parts to the story. Mikey really doesn't know what to do anymore and has just decided not to care. This also makes it difficult for Gerard. He takes anger out on the ones who cause trouble to Mikey. It frustrates him and he sort of looses the plot. I hope this point also came through as it does add to Mikey's trust issues. It may become more apparent in the future chapters. Frank really does care about him and this also frustrates him because he can't do anything. I'm glad to see that point came through, hopefully! What Gerard needs to tell Mikey will be revealed in the next chapter which should be up soon. Thank you for leaving a really helpful review. They really do inspire the next chapter!!!
