Poor Mikey! It seriously does never stop for him and I think that justifies Gerard's almost over-protectiveness of him. I thought that it was interesting the way that Frank defended Mikey; he was forceful and fierce, but was ever-mindful that he couldn't afford to scare Mikey anymore than he was already. I loved they way that Frank was thinking about Mikey, kinda like he's a little kid in need of being protected from the big scary world. Frank just wants to protect and help him, make him feel safe and loved, and that came across really well in this chapter. As did Mikey's reasons for being the way he is; who wouldn't be after a lifetime of getting beaten up like that?
Anyway, great job and I absolutely loved this chapter. Well done! :D
Author's response
Nothing good is really happening to Mikey at all and I'm glad that brings through Gerards over-protectiveness. Frank being mindful of Mikey was quite a big part of this chapter particularly, and you picked it up perfectly! I'm delighted Franks protectiveness came through in this chapter and also that you saw pity for Mikey which is something I'm not sure got through enough in the story! Thank you soooo much for the really kind review!
