In a way this story shows what happens when "the greater good" is used to determine ones actions. Neither Harry, Hermione, Ron or Ginny live happily ever after. In fact, they can only stand to be around eachother a few weeks a year.
But you did manage to make sense of a few things: Harry keeping Voldemort out of his mind; the sudden jealousy that Harry experienced; why the couples are as they are; why one of the kids is named Albus Severus.
It is indeed possible to believe that this is the real epilogue---and that JKR turned this into a happy version.
