Holy War

"They had no idea that while they flowered their Cardinal with praise, a half a mile away an atheist had the man in his sights." -> I feel like that should be showered, instead of flowered.

>.> 9/11 wasn't the beginning of anything. It was just the first thing Americans cared about. If you're going to look for first-causes, go take a look at how we armed the terrorist groups in the first place.

Fair warning - there are going to be people who don't read your story out of annoyance at what feels like a soap-box argument right off the bat.

Author's response

I’ll give you the showered instead of flowered since it was probably an oversight on my part. As for 9/11, like you said it’s the first thing Americans care about and since the prologue is done from the point of view of an American I’m going to stick with that one. There is almost no limit to how far back you can go when it comes to placing blame. As far as people not wanting to read my story, if they don’t want to read it I don’t really care. I write because I enjoy writing, I only post things on ficwad as a courtesy to anyone who does want to read them. This is my attempt at writing a war story because I wanted to try something I haven’t tried before. It deals more with a hypothetical future than present international relations and the religious aspect is based on how things are unfolding today, religion is slowly being phased out of schools and people even want it off of their money. In the past, persecuted religions often become for fanatical and violent and even my Christian friends like the story so I plan to keep working on it. If you can look past the “soap box” aspect of it, feel free to enjoy the story.
