Problems

AJ, I don't know you very well (However, I'd like to get to know you :D), but I do have a few words of advice.

/One: I don't know where to start/ Unfortunately, I can't help you out, except for saying look around.

/Two: I don't know people who know guitar really well./ Well, I know guitar (and apparently I'm pretty good :P), but since we live on opposite sides of the world, I can't help you there. Once again, I'd say look around.

/Three: I can't compose music. I can only write lyrics and think of a tune./ This depends on what kind of computer you have. If you have a Macbook (or, by further extension, any Apple products), you could always purchase a program called GarageBand (if you don't have it already :P). Once you do that, you can play around with that, make some loops, stuff like that (I do it a lot). By doing that, you can make some pretty amazing shit.
If you don't have a Macbook, well, unfortunately I can't help you.

/Four: I don't know people who know the drums really well./ I have a friend who is like, the female, non-famous Spencer Smith/Bob Bryar/etc. I could ship her over to you if you want XD Just kidding, once again, I'd say look around.

/Five: I doubt anyone wants a chick in their band./ You'd be surprised, AJ. Lots of guys in bands look for women to be their lead singers. If that doesn't work, there's always the girl group option.

/Six: I'm really self concious about singing, since whenever I sing in my house, my brothers say I'm really bad and I should shut up./ Your brothers are just being, well, brothers. You should ignore them. I ignore my sister when she says I'm a bad singer, and you should do the same with your brothers.

/Seven: I would sing in public, in crowds, but my brothers made me so self concious./ See above.

/Eight: I think my songs suck./ They don't suck, AJ. A song does not suck unless:
A: It doesn't come from the heart, or:
B: The person who wrote it thinks it sucks.
In other words, your songs will only suck if you think they suck. Your songs already come from that heart from what I've gathered, don't make them suck by saying they suck.

/Nine: I don't wanna let myself down. That girl with dreams who failed and became ________________insert boring career here ________/ It sounds cliche, but just believing in your dreams will make them come true, regardless of what others say. You see, my parents (or at least, my mother) wants me to be a doctor or a psychologist. Do you think that's stopping me from following my true passion, acting/singing? The answer is no, and you should do the same.

/Ten: I really want to be it, but all of the above./ See all my above advice.

AJ, what I'm trying to say is do whatever you want, and don't let others tell you what to do.

xxxxx Liz
