Very brief yet descriptive background story on the character: she was born an raised in Sha tin new territories, Hong Kong but ran away to America when her parents forced her to marry an abusive man.
Plot: Mikey and Niu have been pen pals for years . But when one of Niu's emails sounds off, he gets worried, then a week later she turns up on his doorstep with nothing but a backpack of clothes and a mysterious gold ring, he doesn't know what to think. She explains that she must stay in America for a while but won't tell Mikey or any of the others why. It could be him trying to get the reasons out of her maybe? But when he sees the bruises everywhere and confronts Niu about them, she blurts it all out (that she's married to a man she doesn't love and who abuses her constantly) and he admits his feelings and promises to help .
