I don't know the StarFox characters very well, but this still managed to give me a sad feeling. Poor guys.
If I may slip into Grammar Ninja mode for a sec, though, you do have a few problems with hyphens and dashes in this story. See, if you're using a dash as a pause, you put a space before and after the dash – like this. Otherwise, you get 'words' like "happened-how", and I'm not sure that's what you were going for. :)

It was originally on ff.net, and I had it as one of those long dashes (I forget what they're called, but they basically look like two dashes together), which is how Word makes them, and they must not have copy-pasted correctly here.
