Harry’s thoughts on wards were more a throw-away line than anything. Legally speaking, such lethal wards would be akin to having a machine gun mounted on your roof targeted and fired by motion sensors and servos. Read: Illegal as hell! Don’t worry. When the deeters come to play, they won’t get anywhere near the Grangers’ home.
