Eroninja

Wow, another amazing chapter, it's always great to see another installment in your epic and it never fails to brighten up my day. I did note that there were a few grammatical errors here and there, though this was entirely understandable given the sheer speed and quality of the plot that you're churning out.

Anyway, fantastic plot developments, the foreshadowing of future conflict coming from the various Daimyo and their preconceptions about the world's hierarchy is sobering, since it really shows that there're still so many factors besides Akatsuki bringing chaos to the world (though Akatsuki does appear to be the most predominant at present).

I loved the little interaction and talk between Mikoto and Kushina, the teasing between old friends who've both lost so much was heartwarming and I especially like the bit where it's becoming more obvious that both women are getting more and more attracted to Naruto, though the taboo aspect both draws and repulses them.

It's also always great to see Naruto loving his harem, and even more so was the fact that Naruto and Kiyomi managed to somewhat patch things up, though it appears that they still have to talk further.

On another note, I thought that Rangiku and Shukaku was a surprisingly good fit, given the similarity in their ash/sand theme. I did find the fact that one her attacks was Rangiku setting her ash on fire a bit weird, given that ash is not flammable, and I thought that Shukaku's inclination was more toward air, which would make sense since the ash seemed to cut her victims up. That would give her a nice repertoire of attacks, her sand being inclined to blunt attacks and her ash to cutting ones.

It's also great that it appears as if Naruto's influence over the Shinobi council has increased once again, with potential for further growth via Yoshino Nara, who Naruto will no doubt be able to comfort and seduce.

I'm glad that Naruto managed to rescue Konan in the nick of time, while foiling Tobi's plans for stealing the Rinnegan. That they managed to destroy Tobi's base and steal the Gedo Mazo at the same time is great.

On another note, I wonder what are Konan and Naruto's plans for the Rinnegan, will they transplant them, and if so to who, or will they destroy them? The fact that Sage also has the Rinnegan means that they have to be on guard for any attempts at her kidnapping anyway, so maybe transplanting Nagato's Rinnegan could be a good idea, though whoever receives them will need to have a huge chakra pool since they're permanently on, unlike Sage.

The highlight of this chapter was definitely the releasing of the rest of the Bijuu and their subsequent interactions and agreements. I love how you've tried to match up the bijuu with anime characters that appear similar to them and/or possess similar characteristics/history. Your portrayal of the history of Isobu and her change to Nell, was a fantastic nod to the character's canon history from bleach, though hopefully Naruto or Kiyomi will be able to help Nell recover from her debilitating injury which has reduced her to this child-like state.

Kokou's choice of appearance and her manufactured history and personality was another thing which I really liked. Once again you linked her up with her character's origins from bleach, while also allowing her fraccion to join the story. The fact that her decision flows well and logically with the story just made the plot developments more intriguing. She has the regality and honour of Tier, and now also has her appearance, both in her human form as well as in her bijuu one, though it's unfortunate that she's 'downgraded' herself to three tail status, hopefully through some heretofore unknown reason, she'll recover the power of her tails, or her power-level recovers to beyond her original level without increasing her number of tails?

Anyway, it seems like Saiken is going to cause trouble, which does once again match her character appearance, it makes me wonder if she'll go through the 'goth' phase of her character development, before eventually getting 'tamed' by Naruto and becoming the 'milder' Mirajane.

Actually, this also brought up the thought about Kiyomi's appearance, especially now that it appears that Mito will be appearing in the next chapter. Since it appears that Saiken will be a troublemaker in the future, why not change Kiyomi's appearance to Erza Scarlet's? It would match their whole antagonistic/rival relationship from Fairy Tail, and allow Kiyomi to 'match' her sisters' appearance. Though Kiyomi would have to explain to society why her appearance has changed again, which could be a problem, just a possible suggestion, haha.

Regarding Son Goku, the messy-haired Kukaku Shiba seems like a great personality and appearance match for the bijuu, heck even their prehensity towards fire and explosions is similar, haha. The only anime character I thought would be more suited for Goku would've been Lirin from Gensomaden Saiyuki, given her 'monkey' nature and her fire inclination.

Your choices for Gyuuki and the 'new' Gyuuki in your poll were great, so much so I was seriously torn in my choices. Even your choices for Katsuyu were difficult, since I like both Sode no Shirayuki and Orihime, though the latter does seem to suit Katsuyu more with their healing theme. I also wasn't sure what to choose for the original Gyuuki since you mentioned that it's probable that Gyuuki already feels affection for Bee, and that it's unlikely for it to fall in love with Naruto while Bee is alive (or at least this is what Yoruichi believes). The reason behind my conflict was that I didn't want to choose a character that I wished to see end up with Naruto, but I still wanted to see those characters brought into your story. Anyway, I made my choices and I just hope that Naruto ends up with both versions of Gyuuki, afterall, it's a possibility that either Bee dies or Gyuuki gets fed up with the insane rapper.

As always, I thoroughly enjoyed your story, and I definitely look forward to your next update.

Author's response

Thanks for the review.

Besides to reward the enthusiastic responses I've been getting, I also wanted to get this chapter out quickly because of Rangiku. When I first sat down to plot this story and decided what I was going to do with the Bijuu from the very get go I decided Shukaku would become her. I always pictured Shukaku being the most carefree since it was also the only one who's name was known from the start. AS to her ash attacks, well I wanted to keep her skill set similar to what it would be in Bleach, but also to keep it close to Gaara as well. The reason she can light it on fire also is because I wanted to incorporate that feature due to Asuma's fight with Hidan.

Another one I never had second thoughts about was Tier which is why she also never appeared in the polls I posted way back.

Mirajane and Kukaku though I wasn't sure about which is why I did put them in a poll. I was always leaning towards them to be Bijuu as well and when they got voted into the story figured I'd go with my original idea.

Erza won't become Kiyomi. I think by now Kiyomi is pretty happy with her features and plans to keep them. Plus, I posted in one of my Sage's corner that Erza doesn't really make an appearance to Eroninja 2. But, I've decided to revise that slightly as she will be making a cameo in an upcoming chapter much like Soifon.

As to the Rinnegan, to be honest they are going to let those lie with Nagato. I don't think anyone relishes the idea of mutilating a body. It might be risky, but to me its the right thing to do to let a person rest in peace as opposed to stealing what you want and leaving the rest behind.

Again thanks for the review.
