And another chapter sees the light of day. I can honestly say that it's awesome, and I'm pretty sure that all the well-deserved praises I could say have been said before. Though considering that you've essentially introduced eight new girls at the end of this chapter, and that you noted the next to be the first of the Blast from the Past-arc with Mito, that's nine new girls for Naruto next chapter, ten if you count how little we've seen from 'Rangiku' so far, that should get some character-development soon. I'm just a bit worried that the introductions will be cut short in favor of moving the story along. Wouldn't just the introduction of the bijuu themselves into this new environment deserve a chapter for itself before the past starts blasting?
I'm also admitting that I'm somewhat curious as to how the Blast from the Past-arc will go. Edo Tensei-resurrection upgraded like Haku's is a possibility, though it's just as possible that Naruto literally gets blasted back in time, though considering that the girls of the chapters will come in the order Mito, Guren, Toka, Samui and Sara, so we don't exactly have a linear timeline. I guess it'll be resurrection then, though considering Chiyo proved that that jutsu calls you as you were when you died, Kushina and possibly a few others will need a youth-treatment in addition to their 'get-out-of-death'-cards.
One part I didn't entirely get is when the Daimyo called Naruto "the shinobi of note" and Naruto replies he likes to think he's always been "a shinobi of worth". While both is certainly true, Naruto's answer doesn't exactly match what the daimyo said, as the two expressions mean completely different things. A shinobi of note is renowned, a shinobi of worth is useful. It is entirely possible to be either without being the other, so Naruto's statement doesn't really interact with the Daimyo's.
Well, you've written another great chapter that made my day, I hope the next will be soon.
Author's response
I don't think you'll have to worry about the introductions being cut short. With Rangiku I could see her joining the harem rather quickly due to her impetuous nature. The others won't be nearly so quick to be bound.
If it helps think of each of the pasts as little arcs with the chapters not featuring a Past. In the title stading as their own. Meaning Samui wouldn't technically be a part of the arc, and as such what happens with Toka really has no bearing on what happened with Mito and Guren.
For the talk with the Daimyo, Naruto's reply was intentional. I imagine the Daimyo to be more interested in the fame and celebrity a person has achieved. At this point in his life I think Naruto simply would rather be useful. After all, he and his lovers are working to build a better world, but aren't doing it for the praise.
Thank you for the review.
