is harry merged with his past self or not? if so then what does it matter if he really managed to study that stuff as a child or not he's got his future memories to allow him to pass tests higher than he would have other wise i agree harry is probably as smart as hermione in raw IQ if not more so just never had the right environment to allow it to flourish like hermione did

Yes, he is. And you’re right. In canon, Harry is pictured as being rather smart. It’s only after he reaches Hogwarts, that he begins to dumb himself down…and I believe that was due to Dumbledore’s influence through the walking stomach. The statement was meant to indicate non-magical children.
