Review for A THOUSAND YEARS

A THOUSAND YEARS

Connie is a great character! Now there's a true friend, someone who is able to calm you down and provide the avenue for justice. Trust Dumbles to suspend the laws but not discard them altogether. He's the sort who'd keep them on the off chance he could use them some day. Will Rita and the Prophet even be able to put out a paper now? Since all their stories seem to consist of innuendo, slander and lies would they know how to report a legitimate fact if it dropped on the desk in front of them? I wonder if a trial on libel charges looms in Rita's future? She shouldn't complain if one does, she'd have a story up close and personal to write! Harry's hunt was excellent, and I approve; At least Greyback was useful for once in his life. I've loved The Princess Bride from the first time I read the book! The movie is one of my favorites too. Actually, Harry could have used Inigo's lines to the Count when he faced Voldy later! Harry and Graswold are great team; and their planning worked a lot better than three teenagers playing a combination game of "hide and seek/search and destroy" because Dumbles couldn't be bothered to deal with the sociopath he fostered. But then very little of what that man did made sense to me. Sighs. The man shouldn't have been allowed anywhere near children! Many thanks for the chapter, and I'm glad that you're feeling better! Take care now! :)

Author's response

~Connie is a great character! Now there's a true friend, someone who is able to calm you down and provide the avenue for justice. ~

Heya Teresa!

Basically yeah. She’s that friend who would tell you, “You know, that was really stupid. So, who do we call to bail us out?”

~Trust Dumbles to suspend the laws but not discard them altogether. He's the sort who'd keep them on the off chance he could use them some day.~

And again. He’s shown that side of her personality throughout the series.

~Will Rita and the Prophet even be able to put out a paper now? Since all their stories seem to consist of innuendo, slander and lies would they know how to report a legitimate fact if it dropped on the desk in front of them? ~

Surprisingly enough, she can write an honest story. (Reference Hermione’s blackmail of book five) With the new rules in place, the Prophet will have to start acting like a GASP! legitimate newspaper!

~I wonder if a trial on libel charges looms in Rita's future? ~

Mmmyeahhhh…Could be! Actually, Amelia has already set it up as a fall back. they can avoid it if they print an apology, but how likely is that? In eitehr case, it’s outside the limits of this story, whish is already topping one hundred thousand words.

~She shouldn't complain if one does, she'd have a story up close and personal to write! ~

Rita is the type to complain if her quill runs out of ink. On the other side, she would have a bugs-eye view of the hammer.

~Harry's hunt was excellent, and I approve; At least Greyback was useful for once in his life. ~

Harry’s hunt: I find myself in agreement. Fenrir seems to be the kind of character invented purely so we all have someone to hate. For me, Umbridge, Snape and Dumbledore handle that role quite well, thanks.
~I've loved The Princess Bride from the first time I read the book! The movie is one of my favorites too.
Actually, Harry could have used Inigo's lines to the Count when he faced Voldy later! ~

It’s one of the few movies my daughter and I will watch togetehr. She’s into sparkly vampires and I’m…not.

I can see it, though. “Allo! My name is Harry Potter. You killed my parents…prepare to die!”

~Harry and Graswold are great team; and their planning worked a lot better than three teenagers playing a combination game of "hide and seek/search and destroy" because Dumbles couldn't be bothered to deal with the sociopath he fostered. ~

Rowling had a weird idea of what was reasonable. The camping trip from hell? Who knew the power he knew not was ‘pure dumb luck’? Dumbledore’s machinations point him out to be as sociopathic as Voldemoert himself. Hasn’t he ever heard of asnwering a question? IMNSHO, Dumbledore did more than foster little Tommy Riddle. I read a story once where Dumbeldore is faced by all the epeople he was responsible for killing over the years and Cedric Diggory said; “Killing students through neglect since nineteen fourty three.”

Thanks for the kudos.
