I know it has been over four years since you posted this one chapter, but I still had to review. I love what you did to start this story. The present tense was a bit annoying, but at least you were consistent, unlike most authors who use it. They usually can't stay with one tense. If they use present tense, they keep shifting back and forth between present and past tense. You didn't, so present tense is tolerable.
I realize the chances of you picking this story back up and continuing it are quite slim, what with it having been over four years since this chapter was posted, but I do hope you continue it. But since your other story only went four chapters before being abandoned, I doubt you will ever see this review. Too bad. This was a great beginning and had the potential to be a great story.
