Nice to see this updated, I like the whole idea of Daria joining Jane, and nurturing her own creative field, as well as the possibility, albeit slim, of them getting to, I'm desperately grasping on the fact that Jane was considered a better kisser ;-)
If it has any weak points it is the letters home, they are perhaps a tad too open to fit her character, especially describing the dating, and attaching photos of their shenanigans.

This version of Daria is trying to fight her defenses more so than CanonDaria had at this point. While forcing herself to do so, she will have some relapses
