I've always thought about the desert a lot, just because I had family there once and whenever I went I always loved the way the air tastes so much cleaner, the sky was alight with burning stars, and how the cold of each night seemed to burrow deep in your body.
I don't have family there anymore so there's no reason to go, more reason not to, but I still miss it sometimes. It was a nicer change of scenery at the time.
I like the emotions because they do hurt. You write them very well.
