Hmmm….. I'm not totally sure what to think of this. I mean it's really well written and the lemons are hotter than hell. But what's the motivation? Everyone keeps going on about how terrible Sasuke is and how he needs to be stopped, but nothing he's done suggests he has any sort of evil plan. And even if he does: why? He has no reason told be doing any of this. The only reason I can see is you're making him a bigger ass than usual so you can justify complaining about what an ass he is. That's a dangerous slope. The last thing anyone needs is another great author pissing away their potential on bashing. I'll stick with this but for now you're quite a few steps below Eroninja.
Author's response
Thank you for the review. To be honest I feel that my being up front with my dislike of Sasuke as a character works against me here, especially as I let certain characters vent their frustrations with his becoming Hokage. That isn't character bashing, it's real life. Not everyone is going to buy into Sasuke having a change of heart. Some like Kiba would probably never forgive him for his past actions because I view the Inuzuka as valuing loyalty above all things. Sasuke betrayed his village and then you could say by taking Naruto's dream betrayed him as well. A character like Shikamaru is going to try and anlyze the situation and base his judgements not just on the present but his past actions. He's also aware his own negative feelings can color what conclusions that he arives too.
As to Sasuke's motivations well to be fair you don't really have an facts based in this story on which to base your statment that he doesn't have any reasons for his actions. In the manga he stated he wanted to become Hokage to correct the mistakes made by the previous ones. But what mistakes was he refering to, and how would he correct them? Plus in order to become Hokage he would have to remove Naruto as a contender and while he didn't have a hand in it directly. That he was able to move on the scandal does show he was putting the pieces in place and that's going to alienate some people who are friends with Naruto.
I know some believe that Sasuke's talk with Itachi changed him, but it is kind of hard to ignore the fact that for the entire manga only his goals have mattered and he's been willing to go through anyone that gets in his way. The current arc has shown me nothing to make me believe that this has changed. But rest assured that I know that due to my dislike of his character how I treat him is going to receive additional scrutiny. Therefore, I believe I have come up with a idea that isn't exactly the standard fare.
