Some really interesting ideas here, loved the casual manner with which Harry cleaned up the shop. The final scene of harry and Mary discussing his future was fascinating, although the thought of being betrothed at 12 is quite frightening. Since my wife is more than 2 years older than I, she probably would not have been considered, that would be a tragedy.

Back in the days of serious noble & royal betrothals (say pre-1650s), a few years difference with the woman being older was not too uncommon (if her family was important enough). And of course, childhood betrothals (ie under 8) were not uncommon.
