I think you conveyed your plot beautifully. Not every single aspect of life is supposed to "make sense" or spell it all out. The only thing that got me was the bra. The infidelity had already taken place before Pete had intended it. Understood. I'm just sad it's over. I loved waiting for updates and being complete impressed by how your writing and this story progress. Amazing job, love. Take my point, you deserve it.
