God, finally time to sit back and read this with intent! here goes....
The whole convo between Joe and Carl was so horribly awkward and realistic. How the hell would you talk to someone when that had happened between them...I admire you for writing Joe so perfectly flawed. I was cringing for him....I felt so bad for Carl.
Then the scene with him on the bus with Pete, that was funny, for some reason, you slipping in the line about him playing with his bangs and asking about a new haircut just had me for a while. I giggled like a dork.
anyways, I'm off to review your other chapters.
