I love it how you also describe Sue's attatchment to Shay and Patrick. I guess as a professional you have to try not to grow too fond of your patients but it's something you can't control.
I can see how torn Shay is and to my mind, Patrick is just not ready to deal with the problem(s).
Also got another glimpse at this whole Pete issue. I can't wait to find out more. I suspect that there's more than just friendship between him and Shay, even though it may have never been said out loud between the two of them.
