Wow...this is really different, a mix of game type stories that play off the way the player ends up acting with really firm grounding in the pokemon world as a real world. The...tone, I guess, is kind of choppy in the early chapters, but it really smooths out after the first few, and the seriousness and permanent consequences to what happens are really good...there aren't a enough authors who are willing to leave characters like that. It makes the ending bittersweet (or sweetbitter? Good overall, but with an undertone of loss) and so much stronger and more poignant than if all was fixed.
