Made of Stone

Congratulations on thoroughly mocking the Joy and Jenny conventions from canon, they've always bothered me as well. The presentation was a nice touch, it definitely adds realism, which your story has an abundance of.

The length of your author's note didn't bother me at all, though it didn't hurt that I was mentioned. Not enough people read the pokemon stories on this site...well...not enough people read THIS one, anyway.

The pokemon league rule changes were a good idea. Again, your realism is like a breath of fresh air.

Quick question for you: Why did Lapis sit on Alex's lap?

Well, you know the drill...looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's response

Personally, I don't think that reviewing is a huge priority on this site the way it is on FF.N, so I'm not so concerned by the lack of reviews. It annoys me, and if there's any way I can keep it from happening, I'll gladly do so, but I'll deal with it.

I'm glad you liked the presentation. I was worried that it would be kind of boring, but rangers are going to be popping up over Kanto, and I wanted to explain it before some game buff commented that it wasn't in cannon.

As for your question, Lapis wanted to look at the rain, because he wanted to know if the weather was going to hold up or not. When he got on the bench no one was sitting at the Window seat, although, Matt was sitting at the other window seat (this would be so much more easily explained if I could draw a picture). Alex, being the kind of person he is, always takes a window seat. So, when he came up with his food, he took the seat that Lapis was occupying. Therefore, Lapis had no choice but to treat Alex as furniture. Alex, being the kind of person he is, allowed this until Mel came back, when he had to put something between them, in case Mel chose to sit on his side of the booth (She really didn't have a choice there, it was either that or sit with the other three boys, and when you sit four to a bench, while it is possible, it is also extremely claustrophobic). It was either use Lapis as a barrier, or -- shudder -- actually converse with The Girl.

And there you have it. Long explaination, and it probably would be best to draw a picture to understand seating dynamics, but there you go.

Anyway, thank you very much for your reveiw, it's always nice to read these.
