A/N: You Are the Moon
I managed to get into Frank's house around 8 am, people were still asleep. I returned to my bed and quickly changed into my pj's, I had to look the part. Frank waited until I was completely settled, he slowly rolled to his side and cleared his throat.
"I'm sorry about last night Dude," this was the man apology.
I shrugged.
"It's understandable."
Frank shook his head.
"I'm grounded," he said warmly to me, "Don't thank me."
I rolled to look up towards him, I could see the kindness in his face that I'd seen before. Even in Hartwell nobody could smile a smile like Frank's... he was so young, and old at the same time. A kindred soul, we always knew that nothing could come between us and we thrived on that knowledge.
"How on earth are you grounded, my parents haven't seen me since yesterday morning, I'd think they'd be going crazy."
"I told them we got in a fight, thats why you weren't home last night, I said you stayed with Alyse," he watched my expression, "Have you not seen how bad your black eye is, it's grown since five minutes ago."
"Oh," I whispered, I slowly pushed the pads of my fingers against it, "Ow."
"Yeah, so when we go out for breakfast you know the drill."
"Have we made up after this fight?"
Frank just looked at me.
"I'm not a girl Devon?"
I rolled over and mumbled something, I did even know what came from my mouth. Pulling the blanket over my head I could only feel what an ass I'd been to Gerard, how I fucked it up completely. There really was no forgiveness in those eyes, and I was stuck here until I graduated.
"Dev?"
"Mm," I mumbled.
"You're really quiet, whats up?"
"I'm just tired, I was up all night trying not to fall asleep."
"Why?"
"There wasn't anywhere to sleep at Hannah's, so I decided to clean up a bit."
Frank sighed in a knowing why, like my lieing had made sense. I must have seemed really tired because he just stopped asking me questions. I slowly let my eyes droop, a little more sleep wasn't going to hurt.

I sat in my chair staring at the shepherds pie my father had made. I wasn't hungry, I couldn't bring my hand up to grab my fork. My parents tried to encourage me to eat but I faked a stomach bug and left the table before anyone could ask anything else.
I sat on my camp bed reading an old comic book; my mother slowly entered the room.
"Sorry, we couldn't move it the house this weekend."
I shrugged.
"It was really nice inside, I wish you would have come up when we were looking at it."
Fact one about that weekend they went to look at the house; I was sulking about moving. Fact two: it was Jenelle's birthday.
"I'm sorry that we have to stay another week, do you mind?"
I shrugged slowly, I flipped through the rest of the comic book.
"I saw the cutest little girl today, she was wearing these striped slacks and dancing with her big brother, isn't that cute?"
I shifted my position looking at my mom, I nodded vaguely. I was waiting for her to leave.
"Devon I know you loved Hartwell as much as I did, but Belleview is a really neat community. It may be rough around the edges but it has a lot to offer."
It may have been divine intervention but right after she stated her quaint little rant about this hellhole I now lived in, a police siren bellowed passed our house. I burst out laughing, she simple stood and stormed to my father. It was never going to end in this household.
