Wow, I am so glad to have found this story. Truly. I read it back in, who knows, 2005? 2011? And I have thought about it since then. Not constantly, but at times. I can’t recall anything else I’ve read about these characters and don’t care anyway because the characterization here was so tangible that it replaced anything else I might have believed about them.
For some reason I can’t even recall, I went looking for this story to re-read earlier this year (or last year? Was it a whole year ago? Idk). Scoured ff.net, checked ao3, looked through what I could of the empty shell that is LJ… no luck. I was heartbroken. For some weird reason I searched again today. And arrived here. Please don’t take it down here - bookmarking forever.
I don’t know if you will get or read review alerts and I don’t actually think you will care very much about a review left on a platinum pair one-shot that doesn’t even review the one-shot very much, but this thing you wrote has stuck with someone for 20 years and is genuinely something I love so I hope if you see this it makes your day or mood or week or something a little bit better.
