Who Do You Say I Am?

by fruit_addict 0 reviews

This is a poem that I wrote at the bible camp I went to this summer. It's a response to the camp's theme.

Who do you say I am?
Am I just a good man, a moral teacher?
Am I simply a prophet or a story teller?
Am I just a fool on a cross, a deceitful liar?
Am I a magician with illusions?
Am I what you would call crazy?
What would you say if I said---I Am?
I Am What I Am,
I Will Be What I Will Be.
I was and am and am to come.
I am the way, the truth and the life,
Your refuge, strength and shelter in times of trouble.
I am your creator, deliverer, redeemer and provider.
I am the rock of ages on which you stand
And the one who catches you when you stumble.
I am the faithful one, your wonderful councilor, everlasting father and friend.
I am the Prince of Peace, King of Hearts, LORD of Hosts and Son of God and Man.
I am Alpha and Omega, Emmanuel, Abba Father, Yahweh, and Jehovah Jira.
I am everlasting, invincible, indescribable, invisible, inconceivable, undeniable,
Uncontainable, untameable, all powerful, omnipresent, omniscient, omnibenevolent, comforting.
Who am I? I am the LORD of heaven and earth.

*Important Note* These words are from the bible and therefore are not my own. I simply took snippets and put it into poem format. This poem is meant to be from God’s point of view and is in no way suggesting that I am God.
