Words in our car
Were bound by our hearts
"Drive in the fast lane," you say
But you don't know the
cold, sharp pain

And Angie flies
Wouldn't hold her now
A tear in the nightgown
Lingers on her
wide, warm world

The shadows curl
The bending girl
But you'll see the headlights
Weeds in the
pale, full moon
sing halogen cool

Through the closing door
My mobile truth
A tilt in the axis
Could bring down her
free, full mind

But the Buddha's just
pure, hard facts
Nothin' said or done
about that
And just remember the
way you pray
The steel darkens the
waning day

The shadows curl
The bending girl
But you'll see headlights
Weeds in the
pale, full moon
sing halogen cool
