CHAPTER 1: THE BOY & THE BABY GIRL
“Mama…please can I hold her??? Please…mama!” the 5 years old boy asked.
The woman with the blond hair smiled at her eager little son.
“Alright, Gerard, dear…be careful with her though.” Donna stated, as she handed the boy a 1-year-old baby girl.
Gerard held his little 1 year old baby sister in his arms, and with 2 years old Mikey by his side. He looked down at her adoringly, and his hands would occasionally stroke her soft cheeks every now and then.
“Mommy…she’s so beautiful. I love her so…” Gerard stated.
“Gerard…dear boy…she’s your baby sister. I know you love her.” Donna said, smiling warmly.
“I know…mama. She’s my darling baby sister. I will look after her and Mikey too. I will look out for the both of them…don’t worry mama. They both have me, especially little baby Aurora here…” Gerard stated.
Donna laughed at her older son’s comment.
“Gerard, you will make a really good big brother. Looking out for your siblings…”
Gerard smiled at his mother, and looked back down at her.
“My dearie sister, I’m your big brother---Gerard. Don’t worry about the bad people outside in the world. Because I’m right here, I will always look out for you and look after you.” Gerard said.
Donna smiled at him; she is so relieved that Gerard is not envious or jealous of all the attention Aurora gets now…In fact, Donna is really happy that Gerard is so loving and caring to Aurora.
“I will always love you. When you get a little older, I will teach you to draw, to sing, to fish, I will teach you anything our grandma taught me. I will teach you anything you want me to…” Gerard stated.
He continued looking at Aurora with so much love and care.
“I will help you through all the ups and downs of your life. You can trust me…I will protect you from all the evils of the world. I promise you…” Gerard continued.
There he was…the 5 years old Gerard sitting on the floor in Indian style, holding his dear little Aurora, making sincere promises to her, and promise to love her forever. Throughout the rest of the day, Gerard kept Aurora by his side, and in the evening, he insisted on to be the one who tuck Aurora to bed in her cradle.
“I love you, baby Aurora. Sleep tight.” Gerard stated, as he kissed her softly on the forehead.
